The Himachal Pradesh BJP core group convened an important meeting at the party headquarters, Shimla. In a significant highlight from the recent Lok Sabha elections, it was noted that 10 out of the 12 ministers, including the Chief Minister of the current state government, lost in their respective assembly constituencies. This critical outcome was a key topic of discussion and celebration among the attendees, informed the party in a media communique.
The meeting, chaired by state BJP president Dr. Rajeev Bindal, included several prominent leaders such as state co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, former state presidents Satpal Satti and Suresh Kashyap, former Assembly Speaker Vipin Parmar, former minister Rajiv Saizal, MLAs Randhir Sharma, Trilok Jamwal, Rakesh Jamwal, General Secretary Dr. Sikandar Kumar, Bihari Lal Sharma, and Trilok Kapoor.
The meeting involved extensive discussions on the upcoming three by-elections and future organizational activities. The core group also reviewed the electoral victories in the four Lok Sabha seats and the two by-elections. The BJP’s legislative strength in the state has increased from 25 to 27 MLAs. Similarly, the number of Rajya Sabha members has risen from 2 to 3, and the number of Lok Sabha members has increased from 3 to 4.
Dr. Rajeev Bindal extended congratulations and best wishes to all leaders and workers for securing significant victories in the four Lok Sabha seats with substantial margins. He emphasized the notable achievement of the BJP in the state and acknowledged the loss faced by the state government ministers in the assembly constituencies.
He also praised the national president Jagat Prakash Nadda for his highly successful tenure and his subsequent appointment to two significant ministries in the central government, for which he took charge yesterday.
Dr. Bindal mentioned that the decision regarding ticket allocation for the upcoming by-elections will be made by the central leadership.
