First person who died due to pandemic in Hamirpur district was cremated today with Hindu customs and according to procedure. The last rites were conducted in presence of officials of Mandi and Hamirpur district and public representatives at Sukketi Khad near Medical College.
Yesterday the Corona patient was referred in critical condition to Shri Lal bahadur Shastri Medical College Nerchowk, but died enroute. Patient Rajkumar 52 near old belonged to Galore of Hamirpur, was referred from Radha Swami Hospital Bhota of district Hamirpur. Deceased had came from Delhi on 5th May and was found corona positive on 9 May and was undergoing treatment in Radha Swami Hospital Bhota.
The patient had died in ambulance before reaching destination. Afterwards was brought to Medical College and post examination doctor declared him dead. Dr Devendra Sharma, Medical Superintendent of Shri Lal bahadur Shastri Medical College Nerchowk said that patient had died on the way and dead body was sent to mortuary. Late night the family member of deceased claimed the body and Saturday morning cremation has been done according to protocol stated Dr. Devendra adding that all precautions had been taken regarding cremation of Corona virus victim.
