After Two and half years old Bhartiya Janata party led by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur rule in the state seems time has come to do damage control as party stalwarts former chief minister Shanta Kumar are among the government’s fierce critic who termed the Directorate Heath Services Bribe row most shameful .
Reacting over the arrest of Director Health Services Ajay Gupta in the alleged five lakh bribe row on the basis of a audio clip and booking him on the prohibition of Corruption Act former Member of Parliament termed it utterly shameful in the time of COVID pandemic.
He stated in a facebook post recently that on one side MNREGA workers donating Rs 5000 for the COVID-19 relief fund during the Pandemic but other side state high brass was demanding corruption tunes to Rs Five lakh is shameful.
Kumar’ post also indicated the rem pent corruption of massive fake degrees scam occurred during this government and FIRs are being registered by the SIT of Solan police asking government to take strong action against the culprits.
It is not first time that Kumar has hit his party government. During Prem Kumar Dhumal government and Bindal being Former Health Minister when incumbent government reinstated the service of Drug Inspector Sher Singh after arrested red handed taking bribe in Pharmaceutical companies hub at Baddi and giving him a key posting in the DHS. Here too Shanta Kumar stated that such officers should not be reinstated.
Bindal was facing charges of illegal recruitment in Solan Municipal body when he was chairman and FIR had been registered against him. Former chief minister Virbhadra Singh moved in the court filling challan against him and others but the matter was delayed somehow and meanwhile the state government changed.
After elevating Bindal as Vidhan sabha Speaker Jai Ram Thakur Government withdraw the case against him submitting application in the court by the state vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau and prosecution contending alleged case against him political vendetta, more over the court exonerate him before completing the trail.
States Health and Education are among few portfolio where most of public spending is being done. It is matter of investigation if a big kick deal has taken place in such procurement.
Jai Ram Thakur Government which is trying to roll back the state’s economy is in the thick controversy over the fresh row again.
