Himachal Pradesh recorded 1,959 new positive cases with 935 recoveries on Saturday, said a spokesman of the HP health Department.
He said that the number of active cases had risen to 10,583 as the number of cured cases (935) was less than new cases (1,959).
The spokesman said that since there was no death reported today, the total fatalities stood at 3,872.
With this, the number of total confirmed cases in the state stood at 242289 as against 227830 cured cases.
Meanwhile, the HP government has issued an order under which all Social/ academic/ entertainment/ cultural/ political and other congregations including marriage celebrations and functions will be allowed up to 50% of the capacity, subject to a maximum of 100 persons in indoor and maximum 300 persons for outdoors.
The order also states that there shall be a total ban on organizing Dham or community kitchens.
However, the Local Administration while granting permissions to the organizers, may impose additional conditions, as may deem fit, to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Any person violating these directions and COVID-19 safety measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable, the spokesman added.
