Shimla, May 4
Novel Corona virus claimed 48 lives and 3824 new cases were detected today. These figures are highest ever recorded by the state in a single day. The positivity rate recorded today was above 29 percent.
The total active cases in the state now are 23572
Adding those who lost battle to the virus today the total toll reached1647 and total cases in the state reached 110945 in the state.
Nodal officer and Health Secretary Ambitab Avasthi said that 15 died in Kangra district, Solan 11 Sirmaur and Shimla six each, Una three, two each Chamba and Kullu and  Mandi three. With this total number of Covid death toll increased to 1647 in the state.
Kangra district recorded 877 new cases of novel corona virus on Tuesday, Mandi 802, Solan 411, Hamirpur 340, Shimla 323, Solan 270, Una 258, Sirmaur 252, Bilaspur 227, Chamba 158, Kullu 78 , Kinnaur 54 and Lahaul Spiti 26, respectively.
