The foundation emphasized that it operates these critical emergency services with full dedication, transparency, and a strong commitment to humanitarian service. It expressed concern over recent attempts by certain elements to mislead the public and employees with distorted facts and baseless claims.
Medswan categorically stated that the employees are highly valued and the organization continuously works for their welfare, dignity, and rights. However, it condemned recent acts of incitement by some groups that provoked employees toward illegal strikes and disruptions, which not only violate service discipline but also severely affect emergency response operations, risking public safety.
Regarding employee salaries, the foundation clarified that all staff are currently being paid Rs 15,032 per month as per the interim orders of the honorable court. It criticized attempts by some to manipulate facts related to salary issues, calling such actions illegal and contemptuous of the court’s authority. The foundation pointed out that the salary arrangement currently in place came after a formal contract with NHM and the state government, with full transparency and employee consent.
They also assured that no employee’s service has been terminated arbitrarily. Disciplinary actions, where necessary, have been taken only after providing all opportunities for corrective measures, with proper documentation maintained securely.
Addressing allegations related to service interruptions, the foundation clarified that when some ambulances temporarily ceased operations due to unfortunate incidents, the foundation’s management promptly conducted field visits and collected official information to ensure continuity of service. The foundation refuted any claims of mismanagement or mistreatment during these processes.
The Foundation appealed to all employees to refrain from spreading rumors, false propaganda, and participating in illegal actions.
Meanwhile, in a related development, employees of the 108 and 102 ambulance services staged a protest today outside the office of the Director of Health Services in Shimla. The demonstration reportedly stemmed from grievances related to salary and working conditions, highlighting ongoing tensions despite the foundation’s clarifications.
