Shimla, April 5 – Himachal Pradesh Nauni University Recruitment: Govt to Probe Any Reports of Paper Leak
During the ongoing budget session of the Himachal Pradesh state assembly, Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi stated that the government would order an investigation into any irregularities found in the recruitment process of Dr. Y. S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forest Nauni Solan if there were any reports of paper leaks. Negi made this statement in response to a question posed by Congress member Kewal Singh Pathania during the question hour on Wednesday.
However, the Leader of Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, expressed his disagreement with the accusation and said that the university is an autonomous institution that cannot be accused recklessly by any members. He added that recruitment processes in universities are conducted according to provisions, and there was no evidence of paper leaks.
The Speaker of the house, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, intervened and instructed Thakur to limit his participation to the question only. Thakur then asked Negi if the government would investigate the matter if they had evidence against the institution.
The minister responded that it was his duty and discretion to provide an answer, but he had already informed the house that the government would conduct a thorough investigation into the matter if any irregularities were found in the records.
