HP govt notifies Rajya Chayan Aayog

In a move to bolster transparency, credibility, and efficiency in the government’s recruitment process, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh has officially established the ‘Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog’ (HPRCA). This landmark decision is set to transform the state’s recruitment landscape and inspire public confidence.
The objectives of the HPRCA as briefed in notification are, Merit-Based Selection: To conduct a rigorous recruitment process that identifies and selects candidates based on merit. Utilizing Technology: To leverage modern Information Technology tools to enhance transparency, streamline procedures, and expedite recruitment. Impartiality: To maintain the highest standards of objectivity and impartiality in all recruitment activities. Public Trust: To earn and uphold public trust in the integrity of the government’s recruitment procedures.
Efficiency: To contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the government’s workforce by recruiting exceptionally talented and dedicated individuals.
The functions of the HPRCA encompass making recommendations for initial appointments to various Group-C services/posts within the government, public sector undertakings, boards, corporations, universities, and local bodies.

The Aayog’s headquarters will be situated in Hamirpur, with its composition, structure, budgeting, and staffing to be notified separately.
Importantly, the H.P. Rajya Chayan Aayog will function as a department under the administrative control of the Department of Personnel.
This notification comes into force with immediate effect upon its publication in the Rajpatra (e-gazette) of Himachal Pradesh.
Noteworthy, that last year following discovery of number of paper leaks in the HP SSC Hamirpur, the recruitment agency was scrapped. The government had promised to form a subsequent agency. This groundbreaking move marks a significant step toward a more transparent and efficient government recruitment process in Himachal Pradesh, aligning with the principles of fairness, meritocracy, and public trust
