Employees of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board demanded to pay obligatory Diwali bonus to company complying with its provisions of public sector company.
General Secretary Hira Lal Verma in a letter addressed to management said that Payment Bonus Act is applicable to every establishment having strength of over 20 employees.
He said that HPSEBL is also supposed to implement its provisions in accordance with the terms and references of Act.
He said every employees are entitled for bonus, who draws a salary of INR 21,000 or below per month and who have worked for not less than 30 days in an accounting year.
He said that employees with above floor are eligible for 8.33 per cent bonus if there is loss in the establishment. Employees are also eligible upto 20 p c of the bonus in the productivity, in case of profit, he added
The erstwhile HPSEBL had been paying the same till the year 2001 and discontinued due to the bonus payment of ceiling. Now the Bonus Payment ceiling has been enhanced to maximum of Rs.21,000/- per month and lower grade establishment are entitled for statutory bonus, he added.
It would be relevant to state that HPSEBL is furnishing commitment with regard to implementation of such provisions of labour laws in its establishment invariably to the all concerned.
