Shimla, September 3
Senior Medical Superintendent of Indira Gandhi Medical College Dr Janak Raj has tendered sought resignation from his post submitting a notice to the Principal secretary of health.  The Neurosurgery professor was elevated as Sr MS of IGMC by Jai Ram Thakur Government in 2018, replacing Dr Ramesh from the post. Dr Raj has given a three-month notice to the Principal Secretary Government of Himachal Pradesh copy, which was with us.
“Now, due to domestic circumstances and my personal obligations, it has become difficult for me to continue with the present assignments of the Government service and hence this Notice for resigning from the same”, the notice mentions.  “In view of this, it is humbly requested that the application of mine may kindly be treated as ” Three Month Notice ‘ for resigning from the post of Professor ( Neurosurgery ) as well from the post of Senior Medical Superintendent, IGMC,” stated Dr Janakraj.
Pertinent to mention that meaning of this resignation or prior notice may be political considerations. Dr Raj has been claiming for a ticket to the Vidhan Sabha from the Bharmour constituency. He attended a Chief minister function at Chamba guest house recently. It is worthwhile to mention that Dr Raj has a keen interest in public life.
Dr Raj is not the lone Doctor who plunged into a poltical battle, but there are two other doctors who have taken a similar course earlier and some more aspirants.
Now it depends upon the state if it spares Dr Raj for public life however his services to his profession are no less important, as neurosurgery is a much-desired health service to reduce casualty by offering treatment readily to accident victims, most of them being killed in haemorrhage cases.
