The Indian Meterogical department has predicted light to moderate rain/snow in a few places of the mid and high reaches of Himachal Pradesh on December 29 and 30.
The Shimla Met. Office in-charge Surinder Paul said that the state is likely to witnessed inclement weather conditions on December 29 and 30. He said that the weather will remain dry for the next 24 hrs, wherein Shallow to moderate fog is likely in parts of district Bilaspur, Mandi, Una, Kangra, and adjoining areas in the morning hours.
In view of a fresh Western Disturbance likely to be active in this region from the evening of 29th December, light to moderate rain/snow is likely in the higher reaches of districts Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu, and Shimla. Wet weather may follow through till December 30.
The state may witness a Gradual rise in average minimum temperature by two to four degrees during the next two days, whereafter a fall by two four degrees can be likely.
Today, the minimum temperature of Keylong and Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti district recorded minus 8.5 degree Celsius, Kalpa (Kinnaur) minus 3.4, Tourist resort Manali minus 1.4, Hamirpur one, Una 1.4, Solan 2 5, Shimla, Kufri and Kangra 3.7, Tourist resort Dalhousie four, Dharmshala and Bilaspur six and Nahan (Sirmour ) 7.9 degrees respectively.
