Mandi, Sep 25
The District Administration of Mandi has issued an important advisory after the India Meteorological Centre, Shimla, declared a yellow weather warning. From September 25 to September 27, heavy rainfall, strong winds, and lightning are expected to hit several parts of Mandi district.
The district administration has urged citizens to avoid traveling to upper hilly areas during this period to minimize the risk of accidents or fatalities. Despite previous warnings, some individuals continue to venture into these dangerous regions, putting themselves in harm’s way. The administration has specifically cautioned tourists and locals to steer clear of rivers, streams, landslide-prone areas, and high altitudes.
The Deputy Commissioner has also called upon Gram Panchayat Pradhans, NGOs, trekkers, and other citizens to spread this message widely to prevent any untoward incidents. A collective effort from everyone is necessary to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
The District Administration urges everyone to remain vigilant and to stay indoors as much as possible during the warning period. By taking these precautions, the community can work together to ensure that lives and property remain safe.
