Independent Member Hoshiyar Singh blamed the contractors to be indulged in Rs 255 lakh scam pertaining to installing solar eye, speed breaker & convex mirror and road breams.
In the question hour Singh said that many roads which are yet to be completed and under construction in the Dehra Assembly where lakhs of equipment like solar eye, speed breaker & convex mirror and road breams are installed, wasting the public money.
He said that officers are getting phones from Secretariat Shimla to accommodate contractors as a scam may have occurred.
Jalshakti Minister Mahinder Singh Thakur said that tenders were floated in transparent manner and no such scam took place. Minister said that if anyone call from Shimla to accommodate contractor, Member should file FIR on the matter and government would take action. Thakur who was replying in absence of chief minister said that Member would sit down with them to resolve the issue.
Opposition Congress and CPI(M) Member tried to cordon the treasury benches demanding probe on the issue.
