Shimla, Nov 24
All India Congress Committee spokesperson and former Himachal Pradesh Congress President Kuldeep Singh Rathore made it clear that he is not in the race of Chief Minister-ship. Addressing media persons here today he said that the decision to elect the CM will be taken by the party high command. He said that he met AICC new Chief Malikarjun Kharge and the party national general secretary Venu Gopal. “I was invited in Rajiv Gandhi foundation function and apprised senior party leaders about the state election during the meeting,” he added.
Rathore said that the BJP leaders are accepting their debacle in the state and their party internal survey projects victory on only 23 seats. Adding he informed that on 15 seats BJP was being projected in a close contest. He said that the history of BJP’s defeat in the by-elections and municipal elections would be repeated in the assembly as well. He said that near 80 percent polling including 1.17 lakh postal ballots indicate heavy swing against the BJP which paves the way for Congress government in new Assembly.
Regarding the apprehension of horse-trading being expressed after the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections results, Rathore said that BJP’s Mission Lotus in Himachal Pradesh would fail miserably. He said that all the MLAs of the Congress party are united. The public knows the truth about the BJP. He noted that in different states across the country, BJP had toppled the government, which is an open attack on the democratic system. Rathore claimed that the BJP could not do such horse trading in Himachal Pradesh.
