Shimla, May 30
In wake of the Prime Minister rally in town tomorrow (Tuesday, May 31), the District Administration has designated dropping, pickup and parking spaces for effective management of vehicular traffic. A large numbers of small vehicles and buses are likely to come for the rally. Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi stated that the traffic police was being directed to take stern action against traffic violators as cranes would be deployed to pick-up cars or vehicle parked against the plan.
The town will be divided in three zones, which included Upper Shimla, Solan & Bilaspur traffic zones. This plan has been prepared keeping in view parking of buses and vehicles coming from these three zones.
Upper Shimla traffic zone
Vehicles coming for the rally from upper Shimla, especially buses could enter city from Dhalli Chowk, Dhalli byepass, Sanjauli College Chowk. They could drop passengers going to rally at dropping point near Sanjauli College and Chalonthi. These buses could be parked at Dhalli, Sanjauli Bypass, Bhattakufar Road and can then pickup people from Dhalli tunnel, Near Petrol Pump.
On the other hand smaller vehicles would drop participants at Dhalli Chowk, Dhalli Bypass, Sanjauli College Chowk, IGMC Nala and Auckland Tunnel and can be parked at Dhalli Sabzi Mandi, Bhattakufar Fruit Market, Helipad Road, Sanjauli bypass. These vehicles could pick-up people later, from theseparking places after the rally.
Solan traffic zone
For Solan vehicular zone (Bus) buses would run from Shoghi, Tutikandi, 103 Tunnel, Cart Road, Khalini having dropping point at 103 tunnel & lift. All buses on the route would be parked at Tutikandi MC parking and can pick up people at Taradevi Road, MC Parking Tutikandi.
In this zone light vehicles arriving from Shoghi, Tutikandi, Cart Road, Khalini would drop at 103 Tunnel and Band Box and can then park vehicles at Tutikandi MC Parking.
Bilaspur traffic zone
On Bilaspur Zone, buses coming from Shoghi, Boilueganj, Cart Road, Khalini Bypass, Chakkar, Tawi Mor would have dropping point near 103 Tunnel, Old Bus Stand, Sabzi Mandi Link Road. The buses would be parked and can later pick up passengers, near Tawi Mor. Light vehicle on Bilaspur zone would drop people near 103 and can be parked at Shoghi, Tutikandi, 103 Tunnel.
