After completion of an investigation, two charge sheets have been filed in the court while taking action in the fake degree scam. This action has been initiated against three private universities of the state as five cases have been registered under various sections of IPC and IT Act, informed Himachal Pradesh Government on Wednesday in the house.
Replying to a written query raised by Ram Lal Thakur (Shri Naina Deviji) about the fake degree scam Education Minister Govind Thakur said that three separate FIRs have been registered. One at the Police station Dharampur against Manav Bharati University, Solan U/S 420,467,468,471,120-B Dharampur district, Solan. Minister added that the second is U/S 465,467,468,471, 120-B and 201 under IPC, against the APG University, Shimla in the Police Station, Bharadi, in Shimla district. Also matter has been lodged U/S 465,467,468,471 and 34 of IPC and 66 IT Act against IEC University Kalujhanda, Barotiwala Solan district at Police Station Barotiwala.
Minister said that out of the above five cases investigation has been completed in two cases and charge sheet has been filed and the matter is under consideration by the court. Minister also informed that investigation in rest three cases being conducted by the SIT of state police. No case of recruitment in the government jobs was found on the basis of such fake degrees however the investigation is going on in this regard, he added
