Shimla, August 28
The rail Motor car derailed on the Shimla -Kalka track between Taradevi -Shoghi in the suburbs of this capital town.
A Railway spokesperson said that five passengers were on board when the mishap occurred but all occupant are safe and remain unhurt.
Following complaint of derailment police personnel from Shimla Railway police station rushed to the spot and are taking stock of the situation to find if any, foul play behind the derailment.
The Rail Motor (No. 72451) derailed on the narrow gauge Shimla Kalka heritage as it went out of control, off the track.
After the accident, the operation of trains between Kalka – Shimla has been stopped for the time being. The movement of trains would be started soon after it is ascertained that track is safe for movement of other trains.
Every day, about five to six trains run up and down the line along with a rail motor which is available on special booking. Such heritage trains are normally booked by the tourist and film shooting crews as it is dedicated for recreational activities only.
