Admitting that tourism industry is the worst affected due to this pandemic the State Government has decided to waive off electricity demand charges for the period of six months thereby providing them relief of about Rs. 15 crore. Alongwith others this was also one of the demands of the industry. This decision was taken in a cabinet meeting held today.
The tourism industry had also urged that the state government should consider a relief in water, Electricity, Property tax, Garbage Collection etc bills also. The industry associations had said that even these charges should be levied on domestic tariffs.
Also in the meeting stating that farmers suffered huge losses as they were not able to market their flowers and other exotic vegetables. The, Government has decided to compensate them to some extent.
