Also to extend the capacity of a Crematorium

This Raj Day state capital town toiling hard with sudden surge in 2nd wave of Covid pandemic and death of affected patients decided to convert its main Tutikandi parking lot to a 100 bedded temporary Covid centre beside efforts are on foot to extend the capacity of a crematorium in the outskirt of hill station .
Urban Development Minister and legislator of this capital town Suresh Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi, Commissioner of Shimla Municipal Corporation Ashish Kohli, SDM urban Manjeet Sharma and Chief Medical Officer Surekha Chopra inspected the parking lot and directed the officers to convert it into Temporary Covid centre which would help the administration to reduce the congestion of patients at IGMC Shimla and other health centres.
The Minister said that a new Oxygen plant is being consideration to set up at Rampur or Rohru to reduce the footfall of patients in the town and help to increase the oxygenated bed capacity at Zonal Hospital Rampur and Rohru during the pandemic.
Bhardwaj said that extension of Kalnog Crematorium of the town is also under consideration of State Government as its limited four body capacity is causing lot of inconvenience to the general public need to be enhanced with increasing number of causality in pandemic.
As many as 13954 people were tested positive for Covid -19 and there are 1604 active cases . Till Tuesday 331 people died of Covid in the district
