A special campaign is being launched in Mandi district to educate driver and labourers about COVID-19. Health department of the state has constituted teams for the awareness drive at different sabji mandis of the district. Under this campaign doctors will make them aware about sanitization of vehicles, social distancing during trip and safety measures to keep in consideration after trip when they will meet with their familiy.
Hundred of drivers are plying transport vehicles to and fro in different parts of Himachal Pradesh and outside the state. Alongwith thousand of labourers are also involved in loading unloading and other works.
Team of health department doctors is going to start at Sabji mandis of district headquarter Kangnidhar, Dhanotu, Churag, Nihari and Takoli.
Additional Commissioner of Mandi district Ashutosh Garg said that it is necessary to spread awareness to labourers and drivers involved in supplies of necessary goods. So district administration has resolved to start this campaign with the help of health department and we hope that it will be helpful to minimize the fear of virus spread. Besides every driver, helpers and labourers accompanying them will be screened at district entry points to eliminate the danger of spread, informed the official.
