Ten districts of HP under NDMA alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall
Shimla, Aug 22
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert regarding heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in ten districts of Himachal Pradesh over the next 72 hours.
An SMS has been sent out to residents in the state’s districts, including Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Una, cautioning them about the anticipated weather conditions. While most areas are likely to experience a moderate spell of rainfall, some places could encounter heavy to very heavy rainfall.
In the meantime, Vasu Deogar, the Divisional Forest Officer, has reported the closure of roads leading to the Parasher and Rewalsar lakes in the Mandi district. He has confirmed the occurrence of cracks in the hills within the forest division. Deogar mentioned that the concerned forest officials have already informed the department about these developments.
