A total of 27 nominations were filed on the last day of submission wherein, three candidates filed their papers form Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency (PC), taking total nomination total to 84 contestants stated a spokesperson of the State Election Department here today. A total of 51 candidates including five women has filed nominations for Lok Sabha polls and 33 including three women are contesting their luck in the Bye polls, they added
Today, seven nominations were filed from Mandi PC, six from Kangra PC and one from Shimla Lok Sabha seat stated a spokesperson of the State Election Department here today. Besides this, 10 filed their papers for Assembly Constituencies (ACs) where bye-elections are to be held. In total 27 filed their nominations for both PC’s and AC’s, he said.
In Mandi PC Kangna Ranaut (37), daughter of Amar Deep Ranaut of VPO: Bhambla, Tehsil Baldwara, filed her nominations papers from Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for Mandi PC. Govind Singh Thakur (55) son of Kunj Lal Thakur of VPO: Chhiyal, (Manali) submitted his papers as covering candidate from BJP.
Apart from this, Dinesh Kumar Bhati (56) son of Lakhan Singh of village Deeppur-Danda, Tehsil Gunnaur District Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Laik Ram Negi (60) son of Chhering Sukh of village Shango PO: Katgaon Tehsil Nichar, District Kinnaur, Subhash Mohan Snehi (46) son of M.L. Snehi VPO: Nirmand, Rakhi Gupta (52) wife of Santosh Gupta, Jawahar-Nagar, Mandi, Sukh Ram (38) son of Amar Chand village Chatani, PO: Neoli, Tehsil and district Kullu filed their papers as Independent candidates for Mandi PC.
At Hamirpur PC, Nand Lal (65), son of Jhakhu Ram of village Hirapur PO: Auhar, Tehsil Jhanduta, Bilaspur and Surendra Kumar (53), son of Ram Singh Gautam of village Patte PO: Jalari, Nadaun, filed their nomination papers as Independent candidate for Hamirpur PC. Similarly, Sumit (32) son of Jagar Nath of village Bamta, tehsil and District, Bilaspur filed his papers from Akhil Bhartiya Parivar Party for Hamirpur PC.
Kangra PC, Ashish Butail (44) son of Brij Bihari Lal Butail also filed his papers from INC as a covering candidate for Anand Sharma. Jeevan Kumar (34) son of Bhuru Ram, of village Paisa, Tehsil Dehra, filed his papers from Akhil Bhartiya Parivar Party. Bhuvnesh Kumar (49) son of Harmohinder Singh of Adarsh Nagar Palampur from Rashtriya Devbhoomi Party filed his papers.
Also, Dev Raj (71) son of Jeet Ram of village Banjani, PO: Chail, Kandaghat from Rashtriya Samaj Dal, Advocate Sanjay Sharma (56) son of Des Raj Sharma of Samkar, Tehsil fatehpur, PO: Dhameta and Sanjay Kumar Rana (54) son of Rattan Chand Rana of village Sari, PO: Molag, Tehsil Jaisinghpur, submitted their papers as Independent Candidates for Kangra PC.
In Shimla Kundan Lal Kashyap (65) son of Nantia Ram of Village Bagoti PO: Barog, Tehsil Theog, submitted his papers as Independent Candidate for Shimla PC.
Vinod Sultanpuri of INC additionally filed another set of nomination papers. Besides, Anil Kumar of Sirmour district also filed his additional set of nomination papers from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Both had filed nominations earlier as well.
In Dharamshala AC, Sudhir Sharma (52) son of Sant Ram VPO: Rakkar, Tehsil Dharamshala, filed his papers from Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for Dharamshala by-polls. Apart from this Devinder Singh (51) son of Sahib Singh of Shyam Nagar, Dharamshala submitted his papers as a candidate from Indian National Congress (INC) for the by-poll. Similarly, Suresh Kumar (62), son of Prem Chand of village Bagahni, PO: Sidhbari in Dharamshala also filed his nomination papers from INC as a covering candidate for Devinder Singh.
Gagret AC, Chaitanya Sharma, (29) son of Rakesh Sharma of village Abhaypur, tehsil Ghanari, filed his nomination papers from the BJP. Apart from this, Amit Vashisht (46) son of Dev Pal Vashisht of Oel, Tehsil Ghanari, Una and Ravinder Kumar (39) son of Sita Ram of Kuthera Jaswalan, Tehsil Ghanari submitted their papers as Independent candidates from Gagret Bye- elections.
At Sujanpur AC, Rajinder Singh Verma (56) son of Anant Ram of VPO Tihra, tehsil Sujanpur and Sher Singh (58) son of Roshan Lal Tihra road, Sujanpur submitted their papers as Independent candidates.
In Barsar AC, Subhash Singh Dhatwalia (60) son of Mukadam Singh of village Kawal, PO: Loharli (Bijhari) filed his nomination from INC for Barsar by-poll. Another candidate, Vishal Kumar (38) son of Amin Chand Sharma, Village Usnar Kalan, Barsar also filed his papers as an Independent candidate for Barsar.
No nominations were submitted in Lahaul Spiti and Kutlehar Assembly constituencies today.
These nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on 15th May 2024 from 11 AM onwards, informed the spokesperson.
There are five female candidates who filed their nominations for Lok Sabha Elections which include one each from Kangra, Hamirpur and Shimla and two from Mandi PC’s. Besides, three female candidates submitted their papers for by-polls in six assembly segments, which include one each from Lahaul-Spiti, Sujanpur and Gagret.
The male candidates who filed their nominations for Parliamentary Elections include 13 from kangra, 12 from Mandi, 14 from Hamirpur and seven from Shimla.
For Assembly by-polls, five male candidates filed nominations from Dharamshala, three from Lahaul-Spiti, seven from Sujanpur, three from Barsar, seven from Gagret and five from Kutlehar, they added.
