Including tourist town Manali , the high reaches of Himachal Pradesh are experiencing snowfall , with the down stream getting drenched at most places in the last 24 hrs increasing the cold wave and affecting the normal life in the state.
Gondhla in Lahaul Spiti had 61 cm snow, Kukumseri 58 cm, Keylong 53 cm, Kalpa in Kinnuar 51 cm, Pooh 30 cm, Khadrala 16 cm, Sangla 11 cm, Moorang 9.3 cm and Manali six cm and 84 mm rain. Pangi of Chamba 30 cm snowfall, Chitkul in Kinnaur district , Sanglaj and Kalpa 1.5 ft snowfall, Nichar one ft.
Meanwhile, Banjar in Kullu had 80 mm rain, Seo-bagh 77.4 mm, Reckong Peo 48 mm, Bharmour and Saharan 47 mm, Rampur and Chamba 45 mm, Dalhousie 44 mm, Chopal 42 mm and received Rohru 40 mm rain.
The Met Office issued a red alert of heavy rain and snowfall in isolated places today. Also the disaster management authority has issued a landslide alert for Kullu district.
Earlier last night high velocity wind storm and lightning affected power supply in many places. Reports arriving here said that many parts of Solan and Shimla district are without power supply as the power span and electric pole are uprooted by the windstorm.
In the state snowfall affected 350 roads, four National highways , 1314 power lines and ten percent water supply scheme.
Minimum temperature of Kalpa is minus two degrees, Narkanda minus 1.2 degrees, ReckongPeo minus 0.2, Manali 0.5 degrees, Kukumseri 0.2, Bharmour 1.9, Dalhousie 3.9, Shimla 5.5, Bhuntar 6.2 degrees, Jubbarhatti 8, Solan 9.4, Kangra 12.4 and Bilaspur.
Light to moderate precipitation at many places accompanied with thunderstorms, lighting and gusty in the district of Chamba , Lahaul and Spiti in next 24 hrs.
