Nalagarh/ Shimla, May 6,
Two workers were burnt alive after a massive fire broke out at the Harichetna Resin Factory located in Kosari village near Ramshahar under Nalagarh sub-division late Tuesday night. Preliminary investigations revealed that both workers were asleep in a temporary shed inside the factory premises when the fire erupted. The victims, identified as Arjun Kumar (50) and Shiv Dayal (24), were unable to escape and were tragically engulfed by the flames.
Fire tenders from Nalagarh and Baddi rushed to the site and took over three hours to control the blaze, which was reported around 4 a.m. on Tuesday. However, due to the presence of highly flammable chemicals inside the factory, the fire could not be completely extinguished and continues to pose a challenge for the firefighting teams.

According to Fire Officer Jaipal, the blaze spread so rapidly that the victims had no time to react or exit the shed. “Both workers were trapped while sleeping. The factory contained combustible materials, which intensified the flames,” he stated.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nalagarh, along with police officials, reached the site and supervised the firefighting and rescue operations. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.
