Under trial in theft case absconds from hospital in Himachal Pradesh

A man who was in judicial custody for a theft case has been missing for the last seven days after absconding from a hospital in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. The police and jail authorities are still searching for the accused, who has not been found yet.

According to the Jail Superintendent of Central Jail Nahan, Sushil Thakur, the undertrial was admitted to the Medical College Hospital in Nahan on April 4, but he was due to be transferred to the Model Central Jail Nahan on April 8. However, he managed to give the jail authorities the slip and has been on the run ever since.

The accused hails from Jagadhri, Haryana, and had been in custody after being booked under sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code. The police have set up blockades at various entry points in the district to try and catch him.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or sightings of the accused to the authorities. The police are appealing to anyone with information about the accused’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the search.

The police and jail authorities are continuing their efforts to locate and apprehend the accused, and we hope that justice will be served in accordance with the law.
