Shimla, Aug 17

In an astonishing turn of events, a unique case has emerged in the state as a woman accused of drug possession reportedly swallowed a significant amount of contraband. The incident unfolded yesterday when a police team from PS Dhalli, led by HC Yogesh, apprehended a vehicle for inspection near Cemetery Tunnel following a tip-off.

The vehicle, bearing registration number HP64A-7756 and traveling from Sanjauli, was occupied by five individuals: Mukul Sharma, 20; Happy Chandel, 27; Saurav Panwar, 24; Harsh, 22; and Shaheen Sultan, also known as Shalu, 26. During the patrolling operation, Shaheen Sultan allegedly discreetly ingested a small polythene packet believed to contain heroin. Swift action was taken, and the suspects were detained.
Upon interrogation, the occupants revealed Shaheen Sultan’s actions, which led to her subsequent medical examination. She was taken to IGMC (Indira Gandhi Medical College), where doctors conducted an endoscopy to retrieve the ingested substance. The procedure successfully recovered a substantial 7.60 grams of chitta/heroin

All five individuals have been taken into custody and are currently remanded in police custody until further notice. The impounded vehicle is also under investigation as authorities delve into the source and intended destination of the contraband. This unprecedented incident has raised eyebrows across the region and highlights the lengths individuals are willing to go to evade law enforcement.

Law enforcement officials are working diligently to uncover the entire scope of this case and ensure justice is served. The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against narcotics and the innovative methods employed by those involved in the illicit trade.
