Inwake of upcoming assembly election in the state the Election Commission of India today convened a meeting at Police Headquarters, Shimla to take stock of security and law and order. Meeting was attended by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Maneesh Garg, Director General of police Sanjay Kundu and police chiefs of all districts, Range Inspector Generals, Commandants of Battalions and Officers posted in Police headquarters.
In the meeting, the CEO gave directions to field police officers to ensure proper security
arrangements during elections and ensure free, fair and peaceful elections in the State. The CEO also discussed about the deployment of CAPF companies in the State, vulnerability mapping and area domination during the election. Garg directed the field police officers to take effective steps to nab anti-social elements, seizure of cash, drugs and illegal liquor etc.
Apart from this, he also urged the District Superintendents of Police of the State to organize and coordinate meetings with their counterparts of bordering States from time to time. He also stressed upon the use of C-Vigil app during elections. Director General of Police assured the ECI that State Police is fully committed for smooth conduct of assembly elections in a professional and peaceful manner.
