Vehicular movement was closed on National Highway 05
Solan, Aug 23
The Parwanoo-Solan part of National highway No 5 has been closed for vehicular movement due to landslide near Chaki Mod after heavy rainfall overnight.
A Spokesperson of District Solan Administration said that after a mild landslide, the administration has restricted the movement of vehicles on National Highway No. 5. Vehicular traffic has been temporarily banned. The spokesman said that since last night it has been raining heavily in the area, due to which many roads in the district have come to a standstill after landslides.
However later the NH was opened for Light vehicles.
Some vehicles even got buried and the movement of vehicles has also come to a standstill.
Similar information is also being received from other areas of the district.
Meanwhile, the Solan Police has appealed to the general public that because the National Highway near Chaki Mod has been closed after landslides and other alternate routes of the district are also closed due to mild landslides at many places one should bring vehicles on the roads only in extreme urgency.
Also reports arriving here that the Baddi bridge connecting the industrial area with Panjore has also been damaged in the heavy downpour last night.
Noteworthy that this NH 5 highway is the lifeline of state people for connectivity of Capital with the rest of the Nation and could affect supply of vegetables, rations and essential goods.
