The rescue team had left from Kah village in the Pin Valley at 3.30 am on Tuesday. But, all the 14 climbers have been found while they were coming back in Dhar Chango.  The climbers were descending, after leaving the bodies of both the dead companions on the Khimigar glacier.

As per information, by late evening the 14 climbers will reach Kah Base Camp. At the same time, efforts to bring back both the deceased will start in the morning. The rescue team will stop at Dhar Chango today.

The 14 mountaineers are now coming towards the base camp divided into two groups. They will then be brought to Kaza CHC.

The rescue team consists of 16 personnel from ITBP and 6 members of Dogra Scouts.

The team of trekkers rescued today is from Mountaineering Foundation West Bengal’s mountaineering team. It had left with 10 porters from Batal to Kaza via Khimigar Glacier on 15 September. But due to snowfall, the team was unable to travel further. Two members died on the Khanmigar Glacier. All the other members decided to stay there and did not complete the further track. After this a climber and a Sherpa informed the Kaza SDM about the death of two members of the team and the other members being trapped.
