Shimla district admin bans marriages and other religious and social functions

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi decided to ban all kinds of Social, religious, cultural, political, Academic, all types of sports, marriage or wedding event after witnessing of sudden surge in the Covid cases in the district.

Negi as in-charge of district disaster management authority said that district administration officers task force will conduct inspections of such events and if violation of permission will be found action shall be initiated. Currently, marriage and weddings are deliberately being extended to two to three days to facilitate people to have launch and Dham. This is increasing chances of spreading of corona virus with fast pace.

He said that further order did not permit gathering of more than 20 People including family members in such events moreover permission would not exceed more than one day.

Concern Police officers and SDM would be responsible for compliance of such orders which have been imposed with immediate effect till further change. He urged the people to follow Covid SOPs and maintain physical distance to stop the chain of infection saving lives of people in the state.
