As many as 24 people tested positive for Corona Virus in Himachal Pradesh today. 19 people found positive in one go at Industrial township Baddi, Barotiwala and Nalagarh(BBN) of Solan district, besides a deceased tested positive after three days of death in Chamba district, confirmed a senior state government official.
Additional Chief Secretary Health and Nodal Officer R D Dhiman said that 19 people were tested positive in Solan district and five in Kangra adding cases to 547 in the hill state.
He said that a youth died in Chamba district on Jun 13 Â traced positive posthumously this morning. However, the cause of his death is yet being ascertained.
Chief Medical Officer Chamba Dr Rajesh Guleria said that the 16yrs old youth died in Chamba on Jun 13 . His samples was found positive after his death. Samples of the deceased and other people were drawn as the village declared containment zone. He said that all those who joined the last right of the deceased are being traced after taking their samples.
So far eight people have died during the pandemic who were tested positive for Covid-19
but some of them died due to comorbidity or other unrelated reasons, he added.
Subdivisional Magistrate Nalagarh Prashant Deshta said that 19 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV019 belonged to Industrial township Baddi, Barotiwala and Nalagarh areas. The five among the new cases were reportedly in contact with former president of Gullarwala, who was also tested positive few days earlier. He said that most of people were not in quarantine and the administration has launched a massive exercise to trace their contacts .
Medical Officer of Baddi  Dr N K Gupta confirmed that reports of 20 samples taken today confirmed that 19 turned in the Baddi Barotiwala and Nalagarh on Monday. Among the victims eight are women and two children.
With this total number of cases in the Solan district increased to 59 including 29 active and 26 recovered .
Five  tested positive in the Kangra district. As many as five people were tested in the Kangra district increasing the tally to 143 including  62 active and 80 recovered.
With this total number of COVID-19 positive cases increased to 547 Â in the state including 197 active and 331 cured and 11 covid patients shifted to other states
