A private bus carrying 45 passengers has got stranded since yesterday due to heavy mounting of snow near Jot in Chamba district of Himachal are now being rescued by the district rescue response team, which has been sent to evacuate from the spot, state disaster management authority spokesperson informed here today.
Spokesperson Sudesh Mokta said that New prem bus service has been struck near Jot due to heavy snowfall and there are around 45 passengers on the bus. Police teams have been dispatched to the spot to rescue passengers.
He said that the district emergency operation centre has informed the matter to police and they are reaching the spot and working the process to clear the road. High reaches of Himachal Pradesh have experienced heavy snowfall since the last two days and an advisory has been issued by the state administration to people to avoid travel in the snowbound areas if not necessary.
