The COVID-19 tally in Himachal Pradesh mounted to 47 after five people including a woman tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on in last two days, said health officials.
Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Nodal Officer of Covid-19, R D Dhiman confirmed that Mother of a COVID -19 deceased belonged to Sarkaghat area of Mandi district tested positive at Indra Gandhi Medical College Hospital microbiology lab for SARS-CoV-2 on Wednesday.
Samples of the Mother of deceased was found positive for the SARS-CoV-2 on late Wednesday night, stated Dhiman. He said that 21-year-old young tested positive for noval Corona Virus hailed from Sarkaghat in Mandi, died due to renal failure on Tuesday who was cremated at Kanlogh crematorium in the capital town early Wednesday. After the youth succumbed to renal failure at IGMC Shimla . Three family members or attendants including mother and uncle, doctors, nursing and medical staff of the deceased were sent in institutional quarantine on Wednesday.
He said that two people who are kept in home quarantine at Chamba district tested positive for Corona on Wednesday. He said that samples of both patient was taken at District Ayurvedic Hospital Balu Chamba tested positive at Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College Microbiology lab Nerchowk in Mandi district. He said that two returned in the district on May 3.
The 38-year-old patient resident of Jamanabad village of Baijnath area of Kangra district also tested positive on Wednesday at Dr Rajinder Prasad Medical College Microbiology lab at Tanda in the district. He entered the state in a vehicle on April 27 along with four other people. In the last few days, six people who returned from the National capital region or other places have tested positive in the state.
Director General of state police SR Mardi said that six active patients are now in the state hospital as five of them were tested positive for the pandemic.
More than one lakh people arrived in the state from all over North India after the state government allowed their entry on April 26, most of them having been asked to observe quarantine at home.
Number of active cases increased to six in the state as 34 People recovered, three died and four shifted to other states. Dhiman said that 46 people were tested positive in the state labs and a factory unit owner succumbed belonged to Baddi-Barotiwala industrial area of Solan district tested positive at PGI Chandigarh.
So far 16 people tested positive in the state belonged to Una district, Solan-nine, Chamba eight, Kangra six, Sirmaur, Mandi and Hamirpur two each and Shimla one. The woman tested positive at IGMC Shimla belonged to Sarkaghat area of Mandi was placed in the Shimla district since she was tested positive at IGMC and samples were drawn at Shimla.
Now only four district are free from the pandemic in the state including Kinnuar, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti and Bilaspur . Shimla reported no case from the district itself is still placed in the green zone, he added.
