Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said in the state assembly today that he had no information about any no-trust motion to be brought against the chairperson and vice person of Baddi Municipal Council. Replying to a point of order raised by Congress member Rajinder Rana during the question hour, the Minister said that he has no information about such a motion. Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the matter must have come up at the level of District Deputy Commissioner or Director Urban Development. This issue is not in his knowledge as of now. Bharadwaj said that he will inform the house after taking the information.
Earlier raising this issue Rana said that no-trust motion was moved against both the office bearers of Municipal Council on Feb 2, 2022, by the five councillors who also issued a reminder on Feb 15. ” Instead of convening the special session to place the no-trust motion in MC house, the councillors were slapped with notice for cancellation of their membership for allegedly not attending three meetings. He said that during the last three meetings two meetings could not have a quorum. Members said that councillors were now holding protests against the administration for not convening the house to discuss the no-confidence motion under political pressure as the issue was lingering. Members said that few councillors had not attended meting since the last 7 months were not issued notices. Defending the party Doon Paramjit Singh Pammi said that Cong MLA belonging to Sujanpur is far away from Baddi. He said that the councillor Tarsem Chaudhary to whom the notice has been issued by the ADC is not coming to the meeting council for the last seven months. All the drama is being created to do politics as an attempt is being made to defame the state government. BJP MLA countering the move said that the member seems to be misled by a man doing politics in the matter as wrong feedback was given to Rana.
