The weather in Himachal Pradesh has remained relatively stable in the past 24 hours, but the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for a fresh Western Disturbance expected to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of March 23rd, 2024. This disturbance is anticipated to bring showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and hail to various parts of the state.
Over the past 24 hours, Himachal Pradesh experienced calm weather conditions with no significant changes in temperatures. The minimum temperatures were within the normal range, while the maximum temperatures were above normal.
Notable temperature extremes include Keylong recording the lowest minimum temperature at minus 4.6°C and Una registering the highest maximum temperature at 30.4°C.
Some isolated rainfall occurred at several stations, with Sundernagar receiving the highest amount of rainfall at 9.5 mm. Additionally, trace amounts of snowfall were reported in Kufri.
Thunderstorm activity was observed in various areas including Shimla, Sundernagar, Bhunter, and Kangra, with reports of hailstones in Sundernagar.

On March 21st, isolated thunderstorms with lightning and hail are expected at isolated places across the state. From March 22nd to 24th, scattered thunderstorms with lightning and hail are likely at isolated places.
A fresh Western Disturbance is forecasted to influence the weather pattern, commencing from the night of March 23rd. This disturbance is expected to intensify showers and potentially trigger thunderstorms across Himachal Pradesh.
