
Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh elects new Chairman and Vice Chairman unanimously

In an unopposed election held on April 11, 2024, the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh has welcomed new leadership with the unanimous election of two distinguished legal professionals. Senior Advocate Lovneesh Kanwar secured the position of Chairman, while Advocate Rohit Sharma, practicing in the District Court of Hamirpur, has been elected as the Vice Chairman.
“It is hereby notified under Section 3 (3) of the Advocates Act, 1961 read with Rules 3 and 4 of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh (Constitution and Conduct of Business) Rules, 1999, the following have been elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh in its meeting held on 11-04-2024 at Bar Council of India, New Delhi,” stated a government notification.
Lovneesh Kanwar’s election as Chairman marks a significant milestone in his illustrious career, reflecting the confidence and trust placed in his leadership abilities by his peers within the legal fraternity. With extensive experience and a commitment to upholding the principles of justice, Kanwar is poised to lead the Bar Council effectively.
Similarly, the election of Advocate Rohit Sharma as Vice Chairman underscores the Council’s dedication to promoting competent and dedicated legal professionals to key leadership positions. Sharma’s background in advocacy and his contributions to the legal community in Hamirpur exemplify his suitability for the role.
