State based PSU SJVN has come forward to help of the state. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN said that an amount of 1cr will be utilised for procuring 6 ventilators at Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital, Shimla and 5 ventilators at Dr. Rajender Prasad Medical College, Tanda and some ventilators in Rampur Hospital at Khaneri. SJVN will also extend financial support to provide other essential items like masks , sanitizers and gloves to these health institutions.
He further informed that, the organization is taking lead in spreading awareness on the Corona virus spread. To supplement the efforts of Government, hoardings have been installed by SJVN in various parts of the Shimla town such as, between Old Bus Stand and the lift, Sanjauli, Khalini, BCS, Panthaghati, Mehli and SJVN Corporate Office Complex, Shakti Sadan. Radio jingles, spreading awareness on the disease have been composed and are being aired through All India Radio and Big FM Shimla.
