Several big decisions have been taken in the state cabinet meeting on Saturday. Among these, an important decision was extension of current excise policy. Giving information on important decisions after the cabinet meeting, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that a cabinet sub-committee has been formed to start economic activities in the state.
He informed that the state cabinet has decided to implement the new excise policy from June 1, 2020. The current  policy will continue till 31 May 2021. Also it has been decided not to charge retail excise license fees during the period. Apart from this, the retail licensees who deposited the fees by 31 March will also be able to lift the remaining quota of 2019-20. The new toll policy will also come into effect from 1 June 2020.
Giving information to the media after the cabinet meeting, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the government has decided to give some significant relief in the state after May 3.  It is noteworthy that no district in the state is in the Red Zone. Six districts are in Green and six districts are in Orange Zone. A decision is expected to be taken in the meeting to be held after four o’clock about activities in Green and Orange Zones.
