Rain or snowfall was experienced in the state at many places during last 24 hrs providing some respite from prevailing drought and dry weather like conditions thus also bringing down mercury .
The Met Office recorded 15 cm fresh snow at Gondla in Lahaul Spiti and three cm in Hansa and two cm in Kothi of Kullu in last 24 hrs. Snowfall also occurred on the high reaches disrupting vehicular traffic on Manali- Leh highway. However road was cleared for traffic by the BRO by removing the snow.Â
Tourist resort Manali in Kullu recorded about 50 mm rainfall, Seobagh-46 mm, Kothi-38 mm,Bhunter-31and Bajura 30 mm.
Tourist resort Dalhouse in Chamba had 36 mm rain, Jogindernagar 30 mm, Mandi, Sujanpur Tira in HamirpurDharmshala & Palampur in Kangra-26 mm each, Janjheli & Gohar in Mandi 24 mm each, Pandoh, Nadaunin Hamirpur and Solan -23 mm each. Keylong in Lahaul Spiti 15 mm.
Dehra Gopipur of Kangra & Baldwara in Mandi had 22 mm rain each, This capital town -21 mm,Shillaro and Bijahi of Mandi 20 mm each. Light to moderate rain also occurred at many other places in thestate .
Prolonged dry-spell already wreak havoc in the state after damaging the most of Rabi crops likely to overcome the drought and dry weather condition in the state
Minimum temperature plunged to minus 1.2 degree Celsious in Keylong dip by 3.4 degrees, Kalpa 0.8 degrees and three degreesdown, Manali four degrees, Dalhousie and Kufri in Shimla 4.9 degrees and Shimla 7.8 degrees.
Sundernagar 10.4 degrees, Bhuntar 8.5 degrees, Dharamshala 9.8 degrees Una 15.2 degrees, Nahan 17.5 degrees Palampur 10.5 degrees, Solan 10.4 degrees, Mandi 10.1 degrees and Bilaspur 15 degrees, Hamirpur 14.6 degrees and Chamba 11 degrees,Â
The Met Forecast mainly dry weather in the state during next 24 hrs however state likely to have more rain or thundershower at most places on Apr 21 in the mid and foothills and rain or snowfall on the high reaches and many places on April 20.
