Himachal Pradesh High court conducted first hearing of district monitoring committees through video conferencing and expressed satisfaction over the reports submitted by the respective committees about additional facilities to face Covid pandemic in the state.
Division bench of acting chief justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Joytsana Rewal observed that substantial efforts be done by the state however some more is required to be done.
Two page order passed by the court said that respective District Monitoring Committee represented by the Deputy Commissioners, the Presidents of the Bar Associations at the District Headquarter and the Secretaries of the District Legal Services Authorities were present in the video conferencing and hearing of the case in Wednesday.
” The Committees have indicated therein the meetings held, the steps taken and their visits to the various places etc. “
“They have also placed on record the enhanced bed capacity, the enhanced medical facilities that have been provided and in certain cases the proposals that have been made to the Government for additional facilities to meet the COVID-19 problem.”
Advocate General Ashok Sharma and Sr. Adl AG Ajay Vaidya, have stated that they will look into each one of the reports as well as the suggestions made and deal with the same accordingly.
Now the court would hear the same case on July 22 next week to consider the second report of each one of the District Monitoring Committees to be furnished to the Registry of this Court, through email, by 21st July, 2021.
The court have have ordered to constitute a district level mointering committees to look into the steps have been taken by the state to check the Covid pandemic and increase the Health facilities .
The Court was hearing a public interest litigation on the court own motions pertaining to recent deaths of some Covid patients in Sirmaur district.
