All the Board s and Corporations are rendering loss in the state however non of them is likely to close owning to it.
This was stated by Revenue Minister Mahinder Singh Thakur who was replying to a question raised by Jagat Singh Negi of Congress.
Minister who was responding to a supplementary query in absence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that there are 11 corporation and one board in the state and all are running in losses.
He said that there is no proposal to wind up any of these state companies. Minister said that it was not first time when these public sector units were incurring losses but since last many years these companies are recording a red balance sheet.
He said that Last Congress government also inducted a number of poltical appointees as chairman and vice chairman of these corporation and this government has appointed seven chair man and vice chairman.
He said that during Covid pandemic all the five appoitees deducted their 30 percent salaries to Chief Minister relief funds like other government functionaries Incluiding member of Cabinet and MLAs.
Minister said that till Mar 31; 2020 Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board incurred accumulated loss of Rs 1,52,059.37, lakh HRTC Rs 153370.47 lakh, Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Rs 36199 Lakh, Himachal Pradesh Financial Corporation Rs 15348.29 lakh, Himachal Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation Rs 11042.24 lakh, HP Power Transmission Corporation Rs 10836.88 lakh, Himachal Food Processing and Marketing Corporation Rs 8509.59 lakh, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Rs 5032.61 lakh, Himachal Pradesh Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe Financial Corporation Rs 2927.79 lakh,Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts Handlooms Corporation Rs 1343.36 lakh, and Himachal Pradesh Minorities Financial Development Corporation Shimla Rs 619.14 lakh respectively.
Minister said that during last three years Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation spent Rs 2, 67, 1611 on the salaries of chairman and vice chairman, HRTC Rs 56,75,777 Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Rs 5,45669, Himachal Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation Rs 30,16970, Himachal Food Processing and Marketing Corporation Rs 13, 42, 984 , Himachal Pradesh Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe Financial Corporation Rs 1313345, Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts Handlooms Corporation Rs 2857990, respectively.
