Himachal Pradesh Government said in the state assembly on Tuesday that the death of Anganwari workers occurred after 23 days of taking Covid vaccine is not occurred owing to the adverse affect of vaccine.
This was stated by Health Minister Rajiv Sehjal while replying to a query raised by the
Rakesh Singha of CPI(M). Minister said that death of Aganwari helper Promila died after 23 days of taking vaccine first dose. He said that preliminary reports and medical examinations revealed that the victims reported weakness in her limbs after which she was hospitalized at Hamirpur hospital from where she was refereed to Dr Rajinder Prasad Medical College Tanda.
He said that deceased identified as Promila Devi belonged to Saudd village of Sujanpur block of the district. She was administered the first dosage of vaccine on and her condition deteriorated thereafter. Ultimately, she died at the IGMC, Shimla leaving all in distress.
The IGMC authorities are still not sure how she died as they are awaiting her Postmortem examination as per the latest guidelines of the central Health ministry. Minister said that Covid Shield was administrated in the state reported 70 per cent efficacy.
Replying to a supplementary query of Inderdutt Lakhanpal Minister said that guidelines is being followed issued by union health ministry before registering the applicant for the vaccination.
Earlier Singha had said that he did not want to under estimate or over estimate the efficacy of the Covid vaccine however State Government should inform the cause of death of an Angwanwari helpers of Hamirpur district.
Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said in the state assembly that he along with Congress member Asha Kumar had got the first shot of Covid vaccination therefore members should not panic the issue while bring this issues for discussion.
Knowing about the same Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar inquired about Agnihotri and Asha Kumari’s good health after having vaccine.
