Atal Rohtang tunnel recorded highest Tourist Vehicular traffic on Saturday with opening of Manali-ATR-Sisu-Keylong highway, a police officer confirmed.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Police Spokesman at Shimla said that Traffic unit of the tunnel is ensuring hassle free and seamless movement through Atal Tunnel Rohtang (ATR).
She said that ATR recorded season’s highest traffic of 3950 vehicles on Mar 13.
The police force would working to ensure memorable experience for tourists this summer season and to this end, ready to take on more vehicles.
Rs 3500 Cr ATR project was Commissioned last year by the prime minister which is trying to ensure round the year road communication to Lahaul Spiti district earlier which remained snowbound for five months in the winter.
Border Road Organization maintain this high highway.
