Another avalanche disrupted vehicular traffic on Tandi-Pangi State highway no-26 on Wednesday evening. Owing to, vehicular traffic got snapped between Udaipur to Killar of Pangi Subdivision in Chamba district.
Spokesperson of the State government informed that as per information provided by BRO 94 RCC, an avalanche occurred near Tandi in subdivision division Udaipur of Lahaul-Spiti around 2.30 pm due to which Tandi – Pangi road got blocked. Machinery was deployed for the restoration
of road.
Later in evening the Tindi- Pangi – Killar Highway ( SH – 26 ) has been opened for local for four by four vehicles.
No loss of life has been reported in the Avalanche. Warning was also issued by the district administration Lahaul-Spiti on Tuesday of triggering of more avalanches in prone areas of Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba district.
Press Advisory issued to general public by Defense Geo-Informatics Research Establishment and Residents Deputy Commissioner Manali said that NH-3 (Manali Kenlag – Darcha) and many areas of the district like Darcha, Rohtang Tunnel North Zone – Sissu – There is a possibility of Avalanche. Keeping this warning in mind, all citizens, tourists are informed to avoid unnecessary travel and stay in their homes in safe places and do not take any kind of risk. All Gram Panchayat Pradhans, NGOs, trekkers and pedestrians are requested to spread this message to as many people as possible so that any kind of untoward incident can be avoided, Advisory added. Due to rise in Mercury above normal, threat of number of avalanches are looming large in the state. In this winters so far ten such incidents have taking life of three people.
