Finally the restaurant and bars owners have sighed a sigh of relief as the Government
of Himachal Pradesh has allowed opening of bars in the state from 14.09.2020 subject to observance of Standard operating procedures(SOPs).
A meeting was held with the members of Bar Owners welfare association, Himachal Pradesh in the office of Deputy commissioner of state Taxes and Excise, District Shima on 15.09,2020 under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner State Taxes and Excise, Shimla.
The members of association were explained in detail the SOPs and timing of the bars and requested to observe the same in letter and spirit. The association assured to follow the SOPs and guidelines properly.
The SOPs
To ensure that customers feel safe while eating and drinking, restaurants having bars need to take following measures to make them feel comfortable and at ease:-
Social distance norms to be followed including that the work places will ensure adequate distancing between the workers adequate gaps, staggering the lunch breaks of staff.
No liquor to be sold without masks/appropriate face cover by the licensees. Licence premises to open and close at their usual permitted time.
The licensee should keep a distance of at least one table in between the tables used by the customer so as to follow the Social Distancing norms.
Licensee should keep the sanitizer available at the licensed premises, frequent sanitizer of entire premises common facilities and all points which come into human contact i.e. Doors, Handles, Counters shall be ensured.
Customers shall be greeted by the waiter wearing gloves and masks, and with sanitizer at the entrance. Only people from same family/group would be sharing the tables. All Crockery and cutlery shall be washed with effective sop solution and with Hot water.
Provision for thermal scanning, hand wash or sanitizer will made available at all entry points, exit points and common area.
Regular and increased health check-up all staff to monitor the following symptoms:- Fever/temperature check-up. Cough (dry & wet). ) Shortness of breath/breathing difficulties.
Use of “Aarogya Setu” app shall be mandatory for all.
