Bharmour MLA Dr. Janak Raj puts patients before politics in Pangi Valley
Shimla, May 16
The core profession of the Bharmour MLA is coming to great use for the people of the remote tribal Pangi region. Here, Dr Janak Raj, a BJP Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bharmour-Pangi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, who left his medical profession to enter politics, was seen putting patients before politics. These days, the first time elected MLA Dr. Janak Raj is on a tour of the Pangi Valley, where he is seen examining patients, also.
Pertinent to mention that prior to contesting Vidhan sabha polls, Dr Janak was the medical Superintendent at IGMC Shimla. He is considered one of top leading doctors in the State as he specializes in Neurosurgery. Many believe that he joining politics has left a vacuum amongst competent neurosurgeons in the State.
As per reports coming here, while a meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers was underway, an elderly person approached MLA Dr. Janak Raj concerning his illness. Dr. Janak Raj immediately paused the meeting and examined the elderly person’s health. He reviewed the medical report, prescribed necessary medication, and also provided instructions for the patient’s essential treatment. Dr. Janak Raj assured the patient that he would be available to assist whenever required.
It should be noted that even during the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, Dr. Janak Raj was seen treating people while campaigning. He would diagnose people based on their test reports and prescribe medication during his campaign activities.
Videos of Dr. Janak Raj providing medical treatment during the election campaign had also gone viral on social media. It is worth mentioning that Bharmour-Pangi is a tribal region where people have to struggle to access basic healthcare facilities. In such circumstances, when their elected representative is an expert in the field of health, the public is eager to avail themselves of this advantage.
