Himachal Pradesh Government in the Governor address claimed that COVID pandemic has attributed to modernise the state Health facilities wherein 48PSA plants have been set up with additional availablitity of 90 metric tones oxygen.
This was stated by the Governor Rajinder Vishvanth Ahrlekhar during his address in the State assemble here on the first day of the Budget session.
He said that earlier only 52 ventilators were available in the state, now 1014 ventilators are functional in various hospitals of the state. Adding that ICU beds has been increased from 52 to 557 now.
“To deal with the dire conditions arising out of the global pandemic since last 2 years the government has setup 3 hospitals to provide timely facility for the affected people. Now about 17000 oxygen cylinders/concentrators are available in the state, as compared to 3000 earlier.
He said the state even received appreciation from the Prime Minister as it became the first State in the country to achieve 100 percent vaccination.
He added that the ‘Mukhya Mantri Seva Sankalp helpline’ @1100 has been started where 3 lac complaints were received till January 2022. This helpline was benificial in providing health and treatment related information to COVID 19 patients and assistance to citizens struck in emergency situations.
In order to create awareness about safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID 19, State Government organised 2949 drama shows through folk media. In addition a booklet on Home isolation was also published, he added.
The first citizen of the State further added that due to COVID in last 2 years, both students and teachers faced difficulties. In order to Continue academic activities uninterrupted during the closure of the saae , arrangements for online education were made by the government under ‘Har ghar Pathshala programme’.
He stated, Anganwadi workers have also played a positive role in the fight against the pandemic. During the current financial year, government has enhanced the honorarium of Ananwadi workers, helpers and Mini Anganwadi workers.
In view of the invaluable contribution of ASHA workers in the Corona pandemic, a additional monthly honorarium being given has been increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 2750 w.e.f April 2021, he added.
State Government also claimed that it has completed the work of new OPD block at IGMC with a cost of 103.18 cr and the Constitution of Atal Institute Medical super Speciality shimla is to be completed by March 22. Apart from this, Construction work of Trauma center level 1 at IGMC Shimla and Dr RPGMC Tanda, trauma center level -Ii will be completed at a cost of about Rs 38 crore by June 2022.
He said equipment worth Rs 17 cr has been purchased in various Govt medical colleges of the state, including 128 slice CT scan machines in medical colleges at Nahan, Chamba and Tanda and purchases of 87cr are in progress.
He said Mukhya Mantri HIMCARE yojna was also started for the families who are not eligible under Ayshman Bharat.
