Shimla, Oct 27
A major fire broke in Himachal’s ancient Malana Dharavehad village in Kullu district today which has rendered many homeless in snow. The fire is now under control, informed state Disaster management authority.
Spokesperson of SDMA, Sudesh Mokta said that massive fire broke out in the Malana village (Kullu) at 0128hrs in wee hours of the morning.
The blazes doused down by the local people, now under control have caused massive loss to the property.It was snowing in village when fire broke out.
As per preliminary information about 12 to 15 houses completely burnt in this incident. The revenue and Administrative officials are present at the spot and further damage assessment continues.
Sub-divisional officer Kullu also confirmed that no loss of life is reported in the fire and relief material has been dispatched to the affected village.
It is worthwhile to mention that Malana Dharavehad is one of oldest ancient village in landlocked Kullu district of Himachal where normal life is governed by the will of local (Jagdamnu dev) deity. The area also is being refferred as the oldest democracy.
