The State Congress party opened a war room at the party headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla to fight Muncipal Corporation election in the state.
A press release issued by Congress committee office bearers Harikrishna Himral said that a meeting was held on Saturday to finalize election-related responsibilities for the four Municipal Corporations.
Himral said the primary role of the war room is to maintain regular coordination with party workers and office bearers in the field, monitor election campaigns on a daily basis, and ensure implementation of guidelines issued by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).
He directed members assigned to various Municipal Corporations to remain in constant touch with district and block-level Congress leaders and gather regular feedback from the ground.
The Congress leader also stressed the need to monitor social media platforms to counter misinformation and alleged propaganda against the party or its candidates.

He said such matters would be referred to the concerned departments and the party’s legal cell for necessary action.
Besides the four Municipal Corporation elections, the war room will also keep watch on the elections to Municipal Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions across the state.
Calling elections the backbone of democracy, Himral urged members to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.
He further asked presidents of all frontal organizations of the State Congress to assign responsibilities to their office bearers for the MC elections and share details with the Congress war room in Shimla. Several party leaders and office bearers attended the meeting.
