Shimla, Dec 10

Raising concern about the lacking oxygen supply in state hospitals, leftist MLA Rakesh Singha stated that the tenders for proposed Ner Chownk oxygen plant which were scheduled for December 9 should expedited on top priority. While addressing a media briefing here the Theog legislator added that the same should be done immediately to tackle the problem of Oxygen in the state. “The state even could bypass the tender process under the disaster management Act,” claimed Singha.

Giving reference the MLA informed that an indefinite Dharana was being lodged by the advocate of Bilaspur over death of a member of Bilaspur Bar Association due to shortage of Oxygen which the state must clarify. Numbers of other incidents have been reported about lacking supply of oxygen.

“I have decided to stand with those families who are losing their near and dear during the pandemic. Importantly those who are succumbing due to delay in the hospitalization and shortage of Oxygen and treatments, he informed.

“In the matter I have also met with the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to raise the issue of death of an advocate of Bilaspur in Ner Chowk Medical college due to snag in the Oxygen plant,” he added.

Pertinent to mention here that even the State High court has suggested government to ply oxygen tankers in Covid Care centers and expedite the oxygen plant work.

Number of videos showing negligence of state health administration and Government are being shared in social media for which the state government must clarify, he stated. There is definite fatal negligence on behalf of people about losing lives however the role of Government negligence could not be denied, he added.

Rebutting allegation over ‘Seb Utpadak Sangh’ Road Block at Sandhu

Singha further rebut the allegation lodged by BJP youth wings from Theog and Kumarsen that a man died due to delay on Dec 5 when Seb Utpadak Sangh have given the call of taken road blocked at Sandhu on Hindustan-Tibet National Highway in protest of farms law. He said the fact is that late Ram Sukh (70yrs) who belonged to Sandh village of Nankhari was hospitalised at IGMC on Dec 3, unfortunately he died of severe Covid pneumonia on Dec 6, 1445hrs. So he being present on December 5 at the road block site is not possible, reasoned Singha.

He stated that a message was posted and shared by the outfit of BJP youth wing alleging that a man died as he could not be hospitalized in time due to road blockage. Singha demanded that the BJP Youva Morcha wings of Theog and Kumarsen should seek public apology over such malicious campaign with in 24 hrs notice. In case they fail to do so an FIR would be filed against them in violation of criminal proceedings, claimed the MLA.  They should immediately withdraw the contents from the social media, he added.

He said that facts are being distorted to blow it out of proportion to defame the farmers token call of Dharana and blocked(Rasta roko) which hardly lasted for 40 minutes.
